About

Poi Poi

The African Dream Lives Here.

Poi Poi was born from the South African street expression "Boi Boi," a term once used to describe a young boy finding his place in the world.

We reimagined it.

Today, Poi Poi is not about gender. It is not about age. It is not about where you come from.

Poi Poi is The African Child.

The child that lives within every one of us. The one who dreamt before the world told them to be realistic. The one who imagined a different future despite the circumstances around them.

Because although we grow older, our dreams never do. We carry pieces of that child into adulthood — our ambition, our imagination, our courage and our hope.

Poi Poi exists to honour that child.

Across Africa, millions of people are born into communities where opportunity is limited and resources are often scarce. Too many are taught that their dreams should be measured by their circumstances instead of their potential.

We reject that idea.

Your background may shape your journey, but it should never define your destination.

Poi Poi is a reminder that every dream is worthy. That creativity deserves a platform. That ambition deserves a home. That every African has the right to dream without apology.

This is why our covenant is simple:

Never Seeking Permission To Dream.

We create garments that become symbols of belief.

For the creators.
For the builders.
For the artists.
For the entrepreneurs.
For the athletes.
For the visionaries.
For every African who refuses to let circumstance become identity.

Poi Poi is more than clothing.

It is a declaration. A community. A movement. A home for those who believe that no dream is too big and no beginning is too small.

Because…

The African Dream Lives Here.
Never Seeking Permission To Dream.
